“Commit your way to the Lord; trust in him and he will do this.” - Psalm 37:5 (NIV)

Commit- it makes me think of jumping, not up and down but like out the door of a plane, off a cliff with a bungee cord, signing on the dotted line for a new car or house. That moment of decision, that moment you can’t take back. Once you have jumped there is no turning back.

Many times we like to try things, test the water as they would say - I’ll just sample this and that. But it’s a different thing to commit.

It has a  context of being bound to, a welding together. Sometimes at a wedding the couple will take two different colours of sand and pour them together creating a unique design when finished. It would take a lifetime and more to separate every last grain of sand after the fact.   There is a commitment made.

What is it we commit to? Really commit to? David challenges us here to “Commit your way to the Lord”.
