“This is love: not that we loved God, but that he loved us and sent his Son as an atoning sacrifice for our sins. Dear friends, since God so loved us, we also ought to love one another. No one has ever seen God; but if we love one another, God lives in us and his love is made complete in us.” - 1 John 4:10-12 (NIV)

This is love? That’s a hard one to nail down. Can you touch it? No. Can you see it? No. Can you buy it at the store? No.

Love is patient, kind etc. (1 Cor. 13) is often used at weddings.  John says, “This is LOVE”, not that we loved but that we are loved. No one has ever seen God but IF we love one another then his love is made complete in us.

Love is in some ways an intangible investment. Love is love when it’s given/invested in others. Love is recognized by those it is given to because of another’s acts of patience, kindness, forgetting wrongs done, humility, etc.  God loved us, gave us his love, invested in us so we could in turn share it with others. How can you invest in others with love today?
